Hints From my special Ed class...
By Flower girl

Clip to ScrapBook
Beth,
I have taken a class in special education and we briefly addressed this topic. Here are some important things to consider:

*To what extend are students visually impaired?
Students with visual impairments should be seated in the front of the room.

*There are many forms of technology to aid the visually impaired. Many forms of magnification as well as machines that can read text are available for student use, but they may be expensive or hard to track down.

*Ensure that you explain your lesson orally.

*Encourage visualizations, you can ask students to all close their eyes and imagine what you describe to allow each student to construct mental images instead of merely supplying visual cues.
