Clip to ScrapBook
Years ago I made lots of skills jigsaw puzzles using holiday bulletin board pictures or Hallmark decorative pictures. I would take a purchased tagboard character (Snoopy, Easter Bunny) and glue it to an 8x11 sheet of tagboard
or whatever size fit. I would cut a second sheet the same size. Then I would mark puzzle squares of the desired size on the back of the picture one and the same size on the blank one. Once I decided on the skill to be practiced I would write matching words and clues on the boards. If it was contractions the picture board might have can't, don't, I'll and the other board would say can
not, do not, I will. Laminate them before you cut them up. The student would set them out with just the words showing and as they match them turn them over on the answer card to form the picture. I put them in a decorated large envelope with the directions. I laminated the envelope too and they lasted for years. It works for so many skills independently, and once made can be used for an instant center.
