Your right on. The whole license process is such a joke. Every course I ever took (through MSU) that was part of the certification process had no relevence to the daily activities of a teacher. In fact most of the people setting up these courses had been out of schools for so long that they had very little relevence to the classroom. It was and is just a paper shuffle filling in the blanks and paying off the university so you and I can get the proper certification. I taught for over ten years and can out perform most of the teachers I come in contact with while subbing. I also am very selective in the jobs I take. With the exception of a few resource center jobs I dont touch middle schools or urban schools.
