Clip to ScrapBook
Can you post your policy somewhere in your room on a large poster with a simple explanation?

Question: Why have a due date if they have up to two more weeks to hand in the assingment without losing marks? Maybe you
could just make all homework due Friday and not take late assignments? If they are still questioning you after you have explained it several times, maybe they just really aren't that interested, so let them make their own mistakes. I'm not sure about the ages of your students, but I assume they are old enough to know better.

Or spend one class only explaining your policy, have
them answer written questions about the homework policy, and have them start a logbook for themselves in which they record their grade every week and make a note of why it dropped or climbed. Are there some students who "get it" and don't have problems handing in homework and remembering the policy? Allow those students free time or a fun activity during the log book time.

If they still don't get it, I give up! That must be really frustrating.
