I graduated from college in May 2003 and started subbing in June 2003. I subbed that month, the school year of 2003-2004, but only subbed twice this school year although I had ample opportunitied to sub more but didn't want| to. Basically I have looked for a teaching job in NY since before I graduated, so around February-March 2003 was when I first started applying. I have submitted my resume to my Career Dev. Office for TRD three times now and have not ever gotten one interview from it. Are you elementary certified because that is what I am and it is extremely difficult to find a job in that area. you are going in April, do you live in Buffalo or Rochester because I notice both TRD's are in April.
Broward county is in South Florida, the Fort Lauderdale area. I am happy to say I was offered a contract on the spot from them when I was recruited not even a week ago. I am moving down there in July. If you want a job in elementary I would seriously consider relocating. Broward told me they are looking for 2300 teachers for next school year to reduce class sizes. They will be at TRD also.
