Horray for May
By Newbie

Clip to ScrapBook
All I can say is thank goodness for the summer. There really isn't much you can do for this child other than what you're already doing. Just keep trying to give him independence in the classroom and keep other kids from
doing stuff for him. Ultimately it's the parents who are going to suffer for this one.

The only thing I would change is to not take his work away while he's working in class. If you take it away, he's definitely not going to get it done in class. You can give daily grades for work that must be done in class, and he'll receive a zero/low grade for not finishing on his own. Even if

the kids can take it home to finish for homework, you could require that they reach a certain point before allowed to finish at home.

What does your administrator say about the mother doing the work?
