relentless
By 6-year teacher

Clip to ScrapBook
I think all the vents were legitimate, and I think the kids are just fine. If we we weren't working hard, planning perpetually and thinking of them always, then we could cry "poor kids." What I find is that the work is relentless. There's simply never a break. Once the report cards are done, you do your parent-teacher meetings. Once the assessments are done you need to do your DRAs. And you can count on hundreds of papers every week to come home for correcting. This is a fact of life for a teacher but having had another profession beforehand I agree having a 9:00 to 5:00 day has its advantages.
