Tool Kits
By Jaime

Clip to ScrapBook
I have baggies attached to their Independent Reading baskets that are my children's toolkits for readers workshop. They have pencils, erasers, book marks, post its, basic reading stratagy cards at the beginning of the year, vowel cards (for kids who need them), story elements cards (for writting and telling retells), "book marks" for book club discussions, and other things as the year progresses. We build on our tool kits as we learn new stratagies to apply during independent reading. This has worked so well for me this year. A name on the back of the post its helps return the stack to the owner!
