private vs. public
By Brooke S.

Clip to ScrapBook
I teach in a public school. I attended public and private schools when I was growing up. I do not see a reason to send a child to private school unless you live in an area that does not have good public schools. The school
where I went to elementary school which is the same school where I teach today is rated to 2nd highest scoring elementary school in the state of Florida. So I do not see any reason to not send your child to it. We have books, technology, dedicated teachers, etc. Now, at the time I was in middle school, my city did not have a middle school and we were bused to a neighboring city. During
this time I attended Catholic School. I felt my education was well recieved at that school as well. Although we did not have as many book selections and technology, I made friends that I am still friends with today. It was nice to make close bonds with people. I think public and private schools are really a matter of personal choice. In my area, a lot of people that teach at the rinky dink private schools (not catholic) are there because they did not get hired in the public school system, this is not always the case, but often it happens this way.
