It depends so much where you're located. As I said, in Indiana if a private school wants it's state accrediation, they take ISTEP (our state test) and follow all the same guidelines. My school was recently named a National Blue Ribbon School. We consistantly have 95%+ pass our state test. We follow all the same guidelines. I don't know of a Catholic school in the state that would hire a non-liscensed teacher.

I did my student teaching in a public school and I hated it. I saw 2 parents during the entire 15 weeks. Most of my kids had no support at home and were not held accountable for their actions.
