I understand what you are saying about the "joys" of subbing. I got into it because I was lucky enough to find a district that paid me $110/day (please note I live in Southern California). Now, since I earned my credenital,
I've been hitting the rocky road of finding a permant job. I thought the district I was subbing for would pick me up, but as of yet, that hasn't happened, and they don't even pay the best in my area (actually, they pay pretty low in comparassion to other districts within the same mile radius of where I live.)
I will say that I have found that I'm treated better in the elementary schools
than in the middle school by both staff and students. I've learned alot about myself and what kind of teacher I want to be. For those new subs out there, don't lose hope... not every adminstration is a joke, but some are. Not all students are horrible, but some are. Take the good with the bad and learn from it.
