I resent your comment Rachel, that all subs are treated like "poo". I have been a sub off and on since 1982, and I have been paid appropriately and treated with a lot of respect. I think part of the reason is because I am behave professionally and dress professionally. I get to know the lessons ahead of time, I bring my own "filler" activities and classroom management, I grade any papers that are completed while I am there, and I leave a detailed message regarding the days activities. I am a posititve person and make the day positive for all involved. You can choose not to work where you are not respected. Maybe you get what you deserve?
