I really loved your response! Your kids were able to see a respectful and calm reaction to things that aren't fair. Don't we all say that life isn't fair? You can't override this teacher's intermittent power over your students, but you handled it brilliantly. If Meanie caught on, I'll bet it frustrated her even more.
