You really should stand up for this girl. Have you pointed out to the principal that she has been or was making improvements? Have you talked to the secretary and asked her to discuss any problems with you first?
I was just thinking along these same lines about a couple students at my school. They are still young and they really do deserve more chances. Many don't have support at home....where else are they going to get it?
