Patterns
By Lori

Clip to ScrapBook
I taught a class using quilt patterns for patterning. We cut fabric pieces in squares and strips. I had lots of scrap fabric, but colored paper or pieces of wall paper from a wall paper store's scraps will work too.

For
example, you can do a simple ab pattern with a nine patch quilt pattern. The rail fence pattern can be abcd. Those were the simplest patterns for me to use. Then the students put their quilt sqaures together using a pattern with solid setting blocks.

we then made faces for our students using paper plates and they did self portraits. Then the students placed the paper plates in

a pattern (boy/girl or other pattern) along the top of the
quilt.

We made a bulletin board and called it "All Snug in Our Beds" for our winter themed board. The students also wrote on a thought balloon some of their dreams, wishes, etc. for a writing exercise.

Hope that helps.

Lori
