do a lot of infering, making connections, supporting thier predictions, focus on symbolism, theme, character traits. Take one novel or lots of short stories and find a guide that goes with it. You can compare and contrast using a venn diagram, you can do cause and effect, figurative language, authors point of view, how would you change the ending how has your view of ________ changed or grown.
