I had a light-skinned african american child last year. Both of his parents were african american also. Deke came up to me one day and said, "Mrs. K, so and so thinks I'm BLACK!" He said this as if it were unbelievable that anyone would think such a thing about him. I replied, "Well, what are you Deke?" He looked at me as if to say " Are you DENSE???" and said ...
"DUH! I'm WHITE!!!" The way he said it ws hilarious! It ws as if I were completely clueless in his opinion.
