I still haven't received mine (applied in August), and have heard that it can take 8 mos. You can use the letter the previous poster was talking about (although it took me nearly 4 mos to recieve even that).

I don't know where you are from, but around here (Alameda County: No. Cal), the county Office of Education gives you a letter as soon as they receive your paperwork (best to do this in person), and you can use this letter to apply for jobs. This way you can get to work immediately.
