Clip to ScrapBook
I found a website that has some neat little activity sheets that I believe would be right for your students.

Another idea
is to take a sheet of paper and have the students fold it into four squares. Unfold the squares. In the first square the students write the title, author, and illustrator. In the second square the students draw a picture of the setting (if some students can write a sentence then they should add that). In the third square draw the main character (students that can should write a sentence
about the main character). In the last square have the students draw their favorite part and write whatever they can about it.

We also sometimes fold the paper into four squares and draw pictures to sequence the story.

Hope this helps.
