I agree totally about the different levels in the passages used in DIBELS. I find it amazing that one time the students will score at benchmark and then the next time really low. This is especially true in the progress monitoring materials. In 5th grade we read a science passage last week. It was really really hard! Then the next one is about playing and is easy. Go figure ?
