called And With a Light Touch by Carol Avery. She used to be the guru of writer's workshop in the primary grades, and this book is all about workshop with first graders. It's a great resource, answering many of your questions, such as what are good minilesson topics, genres, what you can expect to run up against--just really an excellent book.
