PV Day Lesson
By Lisa

Clip to ScrapBook
I did a great writer's workshop lesson for parent visitation day. The day before, tell your students to bring in something that means a lot to them. (Most brought in teddy bears, special souvinors, etc. When I started the
lesson, I explained that everyone's "memory" is different. I read the book Wifred Gordon McDonald Partridge and then we discussed how one thing could bring back different memories for different people. My memory was a perfume smell that my grandmother used to wear. Then I had the kids go and write for 10-15 minutes starting with "A memory is...." Their writing came out great. I told
the parents to help their children think of all the memories their object brought back to them. I hope this makes sense! The lesson really worked out great!
