Clip to ScrapBook
When we were learning about ecosystems, I split my class into 5 groups and gave each of them a different ecosystem. They recieved a big sheet of white paper with their ecosystem written on it in the middle, and had to write 5 facts about the ecosystem (found in our text) in bubbles coming out of the main ecosystem (think main idea/detail organizer looking), draw 5 animals found in that ecosystem, and color the entire paper to look like the ecosystem. The group that finished first got a circular piece of paper that I'd written "Earth's Ecosystems" on, and they free-handed the Earth (with lots of help from a globe!) People stopped by for weeks raving about how beautiful these ecosystem projects turned out. It only took 3 days of 45-min. each to complete.
