still misusing scientific terms
By KT

Clip to ScrapBook
There are still several misuses of scientific terms in this discussion.

Theory = a well-tested or well-supported (with scientific evidence) explanation of the natural world. Theories are not based on beliefs or opinions.
Religion is not a "theory" because it is based on beliefs and opinions.

Fact = an observation that is repeatedly confirmed by competent observers. Facts (observations) give scientists support for their theories.

Belief = an opinion; cannot be tested scientifically

Scientists do not "believe" the Big Bang happened or that evolution occurs. Scientists "have scientific evidence

to support" these things.

Please re-read my above post if you want scientific evidence of the Big Bang.

I do not see a conflict between religion and science. We have overwhelming evidence that the Big Bang occured. However, we will never know why it occurred, what occurred before it, where the energy came from, etc. Religion helps by providing answers to questions we will never be able to test scientifically.
