Once I get my grandchildren up to second

grade englich level. We will start working on learning how to read and write in spanish. I hope that by 4th grade they will be able to read both in spanish and english easily. The older teen decided she would learn latin.
She has a latin teacher come to the house once a week to work on learning. Its an exchange thing. My son in law teaches swoard fighting in exchange.
About Dick and Jane. My daughter got a word list that is presently used in the 1st grade so she could teach the 8 & 6 year old. Its basically the same words Dick and Jane use.
Dick and Jane must have worked. Even being handicapped

by having spanish as a primary language and being ADD. I was reading at college level in the 6th grade. I love to read in either language. Read medical jourals, magizines, anything that is set in front of me. The girls will learn that too. They love reading the stories and looking at the pictures. They think Sally is a "naughty baby" that gets into everything. Spot and puff are always causing trouble or are being put upon by Sally. I do not remember laughing at the stories as much as my grandchidlren do.
