skip counting
By Sue W.

Clip to ScrapBook
Try music. The ABC song is an example of how it can work.
Use a commomly known tune and put in the numbers. For example use
"One Little, Two Little, Three Little Indians" for
"5, 10, 15, 20, 25,
30, 35, 40, 45,
50, 55, 60, 65,
I can count by 5's"

Add the last phrase "I can count by___. to fit the pattern.

How about putting them to jump rope jingles?

I also had kids color the boxes with the specific pattern on a hundreds chart so it was visual as well.
Use objects in sets to make it tactile.

Try different avenues to make use of kids' strengths.
