I have the january blahs as well. It would seem with 2 weeks off I shouldnt be feeling like this but I do. I tried Monday to really get that "go get em' attitude" but by Wednesday the kids were really getting on my nerves.
Vacations always make me realize how much time I spend on school stuff.
what fun stuff am I doing --- well, to be honest not much. We have pretty set schedule with not much room for our own "creative imput". Our new social studies unit starting this monday is history which is my least favorite topic - oregon trail, pioneers, etc.. blah.
I wanted to spruce it up but I end up

searching for hours on the internet and usually go back to the book.
anyway, just wanted to let you know your not alone.
Is it good or bad to say "Only 5 months to the last day of school?"
P.S. I love teaching too I just have the blah's as well. Maybe I should save my favorite units for this time of the year (I've always like geography and the kids do to but I did it in September) -- that's when I had the back to school blues
