Curriculum
By Seasoned Life Skills Teacher

Clip to ScrapBook
Well, good luck! There is not much curriculum out there. Here's a few places to get you started:
1. Look at Amazon or Barnes and Noble for some Life Skills books by Darlene Mannix. She has ones for both the elementary
and secondary levels.
Students need basic reading/writing skills.
2. Life Centered Career Education Curriculum (LCCE)has come out with a series for students with moderate disabilities. I just got it this year and have not had a lot of experience with it.
3. Check out the products at
http://www.mayer-johnson.com
I use several
of their instructional books.
4. These folks have video tapes: http://www.stanfield.com
They are well worth the cost. I use the series called Life Smart. They give both examples and non-examples;include a lot of repetition.
HOPE THIS HELPS!
