I agree with jl. Aim for excellence, not perfection! I spent lots of years trying to be just like another teacher, and drove myself crazy. You simply cannot be someone else, just be yourself and be the best teacher you
are able to be. Find a kindred soul who will be your mentor and help you keep pace. Concentrate on covering your curriculum and getting to know and love your students. Over the next few years, make it your business to look for and save ideas from other teachers that you think you'd like to try sometime. (Good manners to ask them first, just in case they are sticky) Bring your own
energy level and enthusiasm and youth and skills to the job, that's why you got it! Enjoy! You have lots of years ahead, and will eventually be one of those that younger teachers envy.
