Reading Buddy Letters

I teach in a K-5 resource classroom. I have partnered my kids up with a Freshman in my husband's English class. My students choose a book on their level, read it, and write a letter to their Reading Buddy about the book. We practice format, responding to questions buddy asks in previous letter, proper spelling and punctuation, etc. The students seem extra motivated because they want to impress their Readign Buddy. The high school students' letters act as a model for our letters.
