Independent Reading Accountability
By Kim

Clip to ScrapBook
I found that I was having the same problems with my students. What I did was choose 5 books of varying genres and levels and put them into plastic bags labelled by letter. (There are 5 books one for each day of the week). Every Monday studnets get a new bag of books. During self selected reading students choose 1 book from their bags and one spot in the room to sit. This simple "book bag" has kept them reading. They are so excited to receive their new book bags each Monday. Just a thought.
