I agree. The nonsense word test is only given once for 2nd graders - at the beginning of the year. It was a good way to determine those students who needed more extensive phonics instruction. The data has really helped us pinpoint where a student is lacking in their reading skills and we have been able to meet their specific needs through small group interventions.
