student behavior
By Karen

Clip to ScrapBook
I just wanted to note that when I sub for high school and have only 45 minutes with each class of new students, I have a hard time leaving notes about student behavior for the regular classroom teacher. I would like to leave
more detailed notes on these days, but it is difficult to document student behavior when I am with a new set of students each hour. I ask for names and do the best I can. I was joking the other day that I wish teachers would leave physical descriptions of each student (e.g. Mort: about 6'0", brown hair and brown eyes, has glasses and a mole on his left cheek, etc). It seems I am trying
to discipline a student and instead of efficiently saying, "Gina, stop that!" I'm running over to students saying, "Hey! You! Excuse me! Hey! Girl!". Keep that in mind, teachers - it probably took you awhile to learn their names, too. NOTE: I have no problems with names when I am with the same students all day, and I think it is a reasonable expectation that a sub document behavior more specifically in those cases.
