writing centers
By Lori

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi Jenny - I tried to make my writing center as easy as possible. I have a file folder holder thing (one of those plastic things with hanging file folders) with graphic organizers, theme paper and other paper. As I teach
how to use the graphic organizers - I add it. I have colored pencils, letter stamps, stickers and other stamps. As the year starts I tell them to stamp words - (I have students on a K/1 and 2 level). Then they get to sentences. I have the stamps and stickers so they can make a scene and then write a sentence to descirbe it. I have drawing books (my kids hate to write) - if they choose
to draw a picture - they have to write a senetence telling me what they draw. I have a mr . potato head that they can make and then write a sentence to describe (I saw someone use it to teach a lesson on adding descriptive words). I also have a bunch of what if questions. They can choose one and respond (what if kids did not go to school?). Hope this helps! Good luck!
