basal
By tARa

Clip to ScrapBook
I think sometimes that those Basal plans are just a little too perfect and meant for kids that would all be on grade level. I do use a basal, but don't depend on the plans. I use the lessons to emphasize skills and plan my own versions of skills that we are required to teach. The basal doesn't always cover that stuff! BUT the kids should be able to identify a main idea and supporting details because we expect them to do it in their writing.
