Clip to ScrapBook
I have a few JW students over the years and I have tried to do more "winter themed" crafts rather than Christmas. Snowflakes, snowmen etc. I have found that some are more strict than others, for instance, one child was
comfortable making reindeer bc they are a real animal while other kids in my class added red noses and make them Rudolph but another year, a different child was not comfortable bc reindeer in December symbolized Christmas. So you might want to ask the family for parameters.

I think the Christmas music and the tree would not be met well though, by even the more relaxed JW. You might have

to curtail that. Normally we have a Christmas party on the last day of school before winter break and the JW student do not come that day, so that might be a time to incorportate the music and more Christmas-y crafts.

I remember the first year this came up for me. I found it to be a big drag having to re-vamp all my plans but I did a little reading and found out how deeply the JW belief in God as the only thing you should celebrate. Realizing that their "ban" on the holidays had such strong religious beliefs behind it, rather than a Scroogy attitude, really helped me not be so crabby about changing my plans. Not to imply you are crabby by any means, just my own personal revelation (please excuse the pun! )

Good luck, Ally
