It is not you, some years are just like this.
It is much easier for a parent to put the blame on the teacher than to try to work through the problem with the child. In this case you have the double wammy of the divorced parents with Dad living out of state. Out of state Dad sees card, is unhappy, talks to Mom, Mom becomes defensive, talks to child, child says "teacher doesn't like me". There doesn't have to be anything wrong that you did. Holding this child to the standards that the others have to meet is all you have to do for this to happen.
