Some parents request that the tutor has a degree and certification. At least where I live. I'm sure you can find parents that are willing to hire a college student, but be advised they won't pay you nearly as much. Again, this is here in NY where I live. Most colleges have a job board ans tutoring jobs should be listed on there.
