A fellow student teacher had this same experience. She was shocked when the kids were making popcorn in the middle of lessons, throwing things. She contacted her student teacher advisor and explained the situation. They came down and observed the class and moved her out of it. It is ridiculous to take on something like that when you aren't experienced.

If you don't have this opportunity, I would consult with the teacher in this class and perhaps together you could take steps to get this class under control.
