Math facts? Addition?
By sj

Clip to ScrapBook
Are you familiar with Mad Minute? These are mini-timed tests on basic math facts.

I've also done a matrix (table)that was timed. You put the plus sign in the corner, and have 5 rows across the top and 5 going down under the plus sign. Call out numbers to fill each of the 5 boxes going across and down, then "pencils up, ready, GO!" I would time for one minute, and let students count correct responses and compete with themselves to better their number of responses each day. (In the beginning, I would fudge the actual timing to fit when the first couple of kids finished!!)
