Still Don't Understand
By Rachel

Clip to ScrapBook
I have been daily subbing for low pay in the Midwest for way beyond 10 years now - I desperatly want my own classroom. I have applied in other states, been to job fairs, gotten into more debt looking for my own classroom. Why is going on that so many teachers are quitting? Is there extreme violence in your building? I just want to understand why some people are so unhappy teaching full time when I have subbed forever and can't get a full time job. I know NYC and LA have bad jobs in the inner cities and I won't move there only due to the affordability of finding a place to live - I simply don't have the ready cash to live there. Is something else going on?
