Clip to ScrapBook
I teach Early Childhood Special Ed, so my first suggestion to you would be to get a good handle on the developmental stages of the young child, so you'll know what they can and cannot be expected to do at certain ages. Check out the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC pronounced and referred to as: Nay-cee)and their book: Developmentally Appropriate Practice in Early Childhood Programs. Developmentally Appropriate Practices (DAP) may be referred to during an interview, and this knowlege will help greatly there & in planning lesson ideas. Some centers like to tout that they are "NAEYC Certified", meaning that they follow the NAEYC standards to the letter and have met their high standards for certification.
Good Luck!
