folders/journals

Clip to ScrapBook
I use both. I have students use the journal for free writing on a prompt that I choose for a short period. Students then share their responses. These are not critiqued but I read them and write a very brief "Interesting" or "Sounds like fun" (the kids can't wait to see the responses!) I also use a folder for longer projects. It includes graphic organizers, rough drafts, rubrics and writing "rules" that students can refer to. Both journals and folder stay IN THE CLASSROOM so nothing gets lost. Hope this helps.
