aprons
By df

Clip to ScrapBook
Plain white kitchen bib aprons or canvas aprons purchased at a hobby store (especially the ones with pockets for hiding items of interest)would work terrific! May I suggest using fabric paint or iron-on transfers of
subjects for visual design representing each focus unit. (Planets and the Moon for studying Space/pictures of salmon and fishies and streamlife for studying river biology, etc.) I understand there's a way to use your computer to print out images on to a printable iron-on transfer paper. Might want to check that out - could be a rich resource. (Might be kind of pricey for the transfer paper
too.)
Key vocabulary words can be written all over the apron with squeeze-on fabric paint.
There's a lot of great little inexpensive key charms around these days in just about every subject you can imagine. They're easy to attach to an apron. Kids love visually interesting clothes. It wouldn't be difficult or too terribly to create a wardrobe of subject aprons.
