Thank you for the advice and commentary. The Everyday Math Link is 2.5 or something.

I have never had a problem giving that - it usually takes kids 10 minutes or less b/c they are so easy.

Also, to clarify, I didn't give extra because it was a day off ... I gave homework for that night (Wednesday) as well as Thursday, the day off. But, study for spelling test was one of the 2 assignments for Thursday and I guarantee most kids really don't study.

In addition, NO ONE else complained or had any problem whatsoever ... I think this mother is just a PITA.
