We dont get off for Vets day, which some are upset about, but for me it is a great way to have a school wide celebration to remember the vets.

I am on the committee and planed a big prayer service/celelbration. (Catholic
school/private so prayers are part of our everyday.
We had a guest speaker this year and it was wonderful. I had us sing God bless America, each class sent a rep. to me with a flag in the back of the hall and we processed in with the flags and several service men and women who were dress in uniform.. it was amazing.
ok, yikes im blowing my own horn here. we recited a poem,

heard a speaker, heard the beginning of vets day, we sang several songs and our band played some. Great day and the kids loved it. We all wrote cards to the vets now in war, it was a great ending of the day for the school as a whole.
