When I was student teaching, the teacher I taught with had her son in her class for math only. He came to her room. She was Mrs. Smith to him just like any other child's teacher. He was not to call her mom from the time the day started to the time school ended. She made sure he knew what was expected of him and what was and was not accepted. She also did not check homework, sign notes or do anything for him related to school when they were at school. She never had any problems. I hope this helps.
