I'll tell you right off the bat that I don't have solutions. My first two years were pretty bad and this year I finally have a good class. I'm writing just to let you know that someone is thinking about you!

You say
you've tried three different discipline systems. With these kids it might take longer for one to begin to work. You'll have to try to find what they really value and take it away when they break the rules. They need to konw what to expect and if they break it they will know for sure what the consequence will be - even when it gets to be tiring keep at it. I know that in some situations
parents are no help, but maybe find some that will be supportive and communicate with them so that there are home consequences as well. As far as your principal, I'd say I wouldn't stay after this year. It's so important to find someone that supports their teachers. Just let him/her know that you need help to make sure these kids are successful and that you'll do everything that you know how...but that you would appreciate support so that the kids can get what they need. Just do your best, keep your head held high and then quit at the end of the year. I hope things get better!
