garnishing your certificate
By TX also

Clip to ScrapBook
In Texas if you leave a job during a time when you are under contract the school district can petition TEA to garnish and withhold your teaching certificate for one year. I teach in a large well respected district and this has been stated very clearly several times in the past, although I have not heard it recently. There are some reasons that no questions are asked: illness, family move or transfer, new baby. I know you plan to wait until next year, but I just thought I would pass along some information for you to look into in case you change your mind.
