LI.LD
By Amber

Clip to ScrapBook
To have a learning disability a student must have a gap between their achievement and their academic performance. Many of the students that I have had not qualify for special ed. services under LD are working to their potential if we see though that they do have language difficulties we can get them services under that umbrella. You are correct that LI can impact classroom performance, but unfortunatley that is not enough to qualify a child as being LD. Often language services are in place for children in elementary school while LD services continue well beyond that the majority of the time. I hope that makes sense.
